The Overton Bluegrass
Festival first got its start in 1988 when the former mayor, R.V. “Jack” Barrett, was looking for a way to attract
people to Overton, a small city with more than its share of good people, civic pride, natural resources and recreational facilities.A committee was formed and the Overton Bluegrass Festival began.Hickory Hill has been the host
band since its inception.Since those early days we have seen fabulous performances by nationally recognized
